A very welcome modern take on the cafe scene. The menu is well thought out and boasts a very unique (and delicious!) Asian-Fusion selection, and also includes specialty coffee options unique to the venue. I went with their take on the Mont Blanc, and the Beef Rendang Benedict, and was very impressed. It takes a lot of effort to stand out in a scene that has become quite predictable in this day and age, and The Birch delivers on all accounts. Thank you for a wonderful meal; I will be returning.

Lovely new café with tasty Asian-fusion brunch options. Beautiful space, kid-friendly backyard, and super dog-friendly with an actual dog menu. Will definitely be back!

A new addition to the bustling Pakington street at the rivers end is ‘The Birch’. It’s fresh, inviting & has a rustic charm with 3 distinct areas - street side, inside & alfresco in the rear with kids play area. The menu offers something different with its wide Asian fusion with influences from Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia with traditional breakfast staples as well. Plus it’s Dog friendly with a menu for your fur baby too. Our Lattes were full bodied & smooth. The Florentine comes with either Bacon or Smoked salmon ($26) it was vibrant with wilted spinach, hollandaise sauce, house cut smoked salmon & well cooked roast tomatoes & poached eggs - it was delicious & just the perfect portion. My breakfast Banh mi was a twist on a classic - intriguing & well presented. The fried enoki stood proud, the honey caramel pulled pork very flavoursome with fresh Asian slaw with mint & wombok & I’d never heard of a drunken egg but its was well matched & really enjoyed it. The roll was a little heavy (like sourdough) & was a little too filling. The staff were friendly & being only open for 8 days (April 12th) we were impressed. We enjoyed our unusual choices. What a glorious day to have brunch at The Birch Cafe! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful sunlight streaming through the shaded tree canopy, as we had a breather from the hustle of daily life. The fish and chips burger was a pleasant surprise (according to my husband), and I had a beautiful katsu ramen which was delightfully crispy. It's a really decent place to have good food with a lovely ambience. Looking forward to more visits!

Enjoyed the food with a number of great choices. Different take on a traditional cafe brunch menu with Asian influences. Korean fried chicken on potato waffle was a hit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved our visit to The Birch Cafe! The service was terrific – super polite and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. We tried the Beef Rendang Benedict and the Chilli Scramble – both were bursting with flavour and incredibly delicious! Asian fusion breakfast done right! Coffee was spot on and came with a cute little biscotti on the side – such a nice touch! Also loved the complimentary sparkling water on tap – refreshing and appreciated. Service was quick, and the outdoor space is perfect if you’re bringing a dog along. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!
